Zusammenfassung:The present study aims to highlight the diffusion of higher education (HEI) in the State of Paraiba, based on the mapping of public patent applications. For this, a bibliographical research was carried out, of a descriptive nature and qualitative approach. From the data collection, it took place with the National Institute of Intellectual Property Research (INPI), from the selection of the number of patent applications filed by IES, through online on the body's website. To obtain the results, all identified patent applications were analyzed individually. With this, under secrecy that UFPB, UFCG, IFPB and UEPB have canceled, under secrecy and granted deposits. In addition, it was identified, in general, that it is the largest of the Engineering companies that has the number of requests for deposits of deposits. Finally, it was possible to verify that the UFPB, is evidenced, as being an HEI innovation, among the institutions that most spreads, is verified.
