Zusammenfassung: | Objective: to evaluate the adherence of dental surgeons (DCs) to the new biosafety regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and analyze the consequent financial impact. Methods: cross-sectional study, carried out with CDs from Brazil, using an electronic, semi-structured, self-reported and validated questionnaire. Results: there was a high level of adherence to personal protective equipment during critical periods of the pandemic. Most developing countries reported an increase in the amount of biological waste (70%), did not change the apron for each treated patient (41.5%), had financial losses (61%), which were more significant for women.
