Mapping of actors in the innovation ecosystem of the city of Timon-Maranhao and their potentialities/ Mapeamento de atores do ecossistema de inovacao da cidade de Timon-Maranhao e suas potencialidades

Innovation ecosystems are formed by different actors from a given region who, through their interactivity, seek economic, social and regional development through promotions--thus providing the creation and/or strengthening of ventures and new businesses. This research aims to map the actors in the innovation ecosystem of the city of Timon-Maranhao (Brazil), identifying their potential. The methodological procedures are based on bibliographic and documentary research. The bibliography sought to gravitate towards conceptual issues and the main models on the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem existing in the literature. The documentary, in turn, aimed to research and collect secondary data on city indicators, together with government bodies, databases, development and research agencies, reports and technical studies, news on portals, among others. Based on the data collected, it was possible to identify and map the existing actors of an innovation ecosystem in the city of Timon (MA), identifying their areas of activity and their potential, categorizing them. The results showed the presence of several actors that make up this ecosystem, but there was a lack of interactivity between them and other important actors such as startups, accelerators, incubators, technology parks, investors, among others. On the other hand, we noticed the recent emergence of several maker and innovation spaces, and government initiatives aimed at stimulating the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the region, as well as the participation of university institutions in this process. Therefore, we sought to study the city's innovation ecosystem to understand its actors and their potential, contributing to its economic development and regional strengthening.
