Zusammenfassung:The article entitled "The expansion of distance undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Para, in the period 2007-2017" aimed to analyze the expansion of courses distance at UFPA, with emphasis on the Degree Course in Mathematics, in the period from 2007 to 2017. It is a qualitative research with a case study. Authors such as Malanchen (2007, 2015), Giolo (2010), Machado (2006), Castro (2005, 2009), among others, contributed to the theoretical framework that supported the documentary analysis. In the final remarks, it is emphasized that the offer of distance education courses follows the neoliberal logic impregnated in the reform of the Brazilian State and in Higher Education. As a result, the research showed that Distance Education at UFPA has characteristics similar to that observed in the national scenario, with a tendency to expand access, without guarantee of permanence and with a high dropout rate, leading us to believe that this teaching modality it is still far from presenting itself as an alternative capable of promoting the democratization of higher education in the region. O artigo intitulado "A expansao de cursos de graduacao a distancia na Universidade Federal do Para, no periodo de 2007-2017" teve como objetivo analisar a expansao dos cursos de graduacao a distancia na UFPA, com destaque para o Curso de Licenciatura em Matematica, no periodo 2007 a 2017. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa com estudo de caso. Autores como Malanchen (2007, 2015), Giolo (2010), Machado (2006), Castro (2005, 2009), entre outros contribuiram para o arcabouco teorico que fundamentou a analise documental. Nas consideracoes finais ressalta-se que a oferta de cursos EaD segue a logica neoliberal impregnada na reforma do Estado brasileiro e na Educacao Superior. Como resultado, a pesquisa mostrou que a Educacao a Distancia na UFPA apresenta caracteristicas semelhantes a observada no cenario nacional, com tendencia a ampliacao do acesso, sem garantia da permanencia e com alto indice de evasao, levando-nos a acreditar que esta modalidade de ensino ainda esta distante de se apresentar como alternativa capaz de promover a democratizacao do ensino superior na regiao.
