Zusammenfassung:Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative condition and the main cause of dementia among the elderly, highlighting the importance of palliative care in improving the quality of life of patients and their families. Palliative care, emphasized by a multidisciplinary approach, aims to alleviate suffering and provide comprehensive support, focusing on pain relief and other physical, psychosocial, and spiritual problems. Nursing plays a crucial role, not only in the management of physical symptoms but also in providing emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families, requiring well-prepared professionals to meet the special needs of these patients. In Brazil, the effective implementation of palliative care faces challenges, such as the scarcity of trained professionals and the need for greater integration among health services. The study aims to assess the impact of nursing care in palliative care for elderly patients with AD, through a literature review covering studies from 2014 to 2024. It emphasizes the importance of an approach that goes beyond technical assistance, engaging in practices that consider the complexity of the human experience in the face of terminality, needing communicative skills, empathy, and technical knowledge to promote a dignified quality of life until the end.
