Zusammenfassung: | This article aims to show that the growing use of electronic games by children and adolescents raises concerns about possible damage to mental health. Research indicates that prolonged participation in virtual gaming environments can lead to addiction, leading to the neglect of important obligations, such as studies and social interactions. The increased immersion in this virtual universe can contribute to the emergence of psychological problems such as anxiety and depression. Addiction to electronic games manifests itself when control over the time and frequency of use is lost, being recognized as a possible modern psychiatric condition. The aim of this study is to examine the vulnerability of children and adolescents to excessive use of electronic games and the potential future harm associated with this addiction. Therefore, it can be concluded that many dependent gamers face vulnerabilities such as low frustration tolerance, anxiety, and depression, making them more prone to addiction. Abusive use of video games can lead to issues like poor academic performance, social isolation, and family conflicts. Adolescence, a phase of identity search, makes young people more vulnerable to dependency on these games. O uso excessivo de jogos eletronicos por criancas e adolescentes tem sido associado a uma variedade de vulnerabilidades psiquiatricas. Estudos indicam que o engajamento prolongado em ambientes virtuais pode levar a sintomas de ansiedade, depressao e problemas de atencao. O aumento da imersao nesse universo virtual pode contribuir para o surgimento de problemas psicologicos, como ansiedade e depressao. A dependencia em jogos eletronicos se manifesta quando o controle sobre o tempo e a frequencia de uso e perdido, sendo reconhecida como uma possivel condicao psiquiatrica moderna. O objetivo deste estudo e examinar a vulnerabilidade de criancas e adolescentes ao uso excessivo de jogos eletronicos e os potenciais prejuizos futuros associados a essa dependencia. Assim, tem-se como conclusao de que muitos jogadores dependentes enfrentam fragilidades como baixa tolerancia a frustracao, ansiedade e depressao, tornando-os mais propensos ao vicio.
