Zusammenfassung: | The generation of electrical energy through the use of renewable sources has grown considerably over recent years. Especially in Brazil, solar and wind sources have stood out due to the high availability of solar radiation and wind in the national territory. However, these sources have an intermittent characteristic in their energy production, requiring alternatives to stabilize the generation curves. The combination of plants from different generation sources and the use of battery banks emerge as promising models for optimizing generation. This work, the result of the R&D+I project, aims to design an energy storage system using lithium batteries, with the objective of controlling the generation curve of a wind-solar hybrid plant, analyzing the curtailment control condition, the upper and lower exceedances of the limits established in the study and the cost of the battery system. The study evaluated the insertion of batteries in a hypothetical hybrid plant with 1.5MW wind and 1MWp photovoltaic. Three scenarios with different energy storage capacities were evaluated: 1.2 MWh, 1.4 MWh and 1.8 MWh and all demonstrated improvement in plant performance, in terms of control of generation curtailment, when compared to the hybrid plant without storage. Among the systems compared, 1.4 MWh storage presented the best surplus attenuation linked to the plant's financial return, exhibiting the best cost-benefit.
