Zusammenfassung: | The study of wildlife parasites is important for understanding local fauna and for studying population health, since some parasites are of zoonotic importance and wild animals are considered potential hosts and reservoirs of parasitic diseases. The objective was to verify the occurrence of endoparasites in free-living squirrel monkeys (Saimiri ustus), using invasive methods. The analyzes were carried out by collecting organs (stomach, liver and intestines) for macroscopic visualization of adult forms and microscopic analysis of eggs from coprological examinations, using fecal parasitological examination techniques (EPF), qualitative and low cost, such as the technique of Hoffman, Pons and Janer (1934) and Willis (1921) visualized with 20x and 40x objectives. Identification by morphological similarity was carried out with the help of veterinary parasitological literature. Through observation, eggs and the adult form belonging to the genus Prosthenorchis and branches associated with nematodes of the superfamily Filarioidea can be identified. In Rondonia, asymptomatic zoonotic diseases represent a significant challenge for Public Health, especially when non-human primates (NHPs) play a crucial role as reservoirs of these diseases. Their physical proximity to urbanized and man-made areas substantially increases the risk of disease transmission, a factor that can result in an increased incidence of zoonotic diseases in human populations.
