LYMPHEDEMA AND PERIPHERAL LYMPHOSCINTIGRAPHY/LENFODEM VE PERIFERIK LENFOSINTIGRAFI

Peripheral lymphedema occurs because of mechanical or functional obstruction of the lymphatic system. Accurate diagnosis is important for the appropriate management of patients with lymphedema. Lymphoscintigraphy is a useful technique among the first-choice methods to detect lymphedema. Factors affecting the outcome of the test and different test protocols can make it difficult to interpret. The aim of this review is to provide a literature-based overview of the aetiology and diagnostic methods of extremity lymphedema and to summarise the current knowledge on lymphoscintigraphy protocols and interpretation. Lenfodemli hastalarin uygun sekilde yonetilebilmesi icin dogru tani konulmasi onemlidir. Lenodemin saptanmasi icin ilk tercih edilecek yontemler arasinda lenfosintigrafi onemli bir yer tutar. Testin sonucunu etkileyen faktorler, farkli test protokollerinin yorumlanmasini zorlastirabilir. Bu derlemenin amaci, alt ekstremite lenfodeminin etiyolojisi ve tani yontemleri hakkinda literature dayali bir bakis saglamak ve lenfosintigrafi protokolleri ve yorumlamasi hakkindaki guncel bilgileri ozetlemektir.
