Zusammenfassung: | This work aims at analyzing the Negro and Solimoes rivers' water meeting in the perspective of geoheritage and its geotouristic potential in the Amazon. inventory of places of hydrological interest--hydrosites, adapted from the proposal by Foleto and Costa (2021), and the Negro and Solimoes rivers' water meeting's geotouristic potential was based on studies developed by Manosso (2012). The relevance of the theme and the lack of studies on hydrological geopathology, especially in the Amazon, the site of the largest hydrographic basin, the longest river in length and several hydrosites, such as the Negro and Solimoes rivers' water meeting. The research showed that despite the aforementioned point having wide visibility and being known, even by name, it does not have legal instruments that actually protect and safeguard it from being impacted. From the point of view of geoheritage, Negro and Solimoes rivers' water meeting has a hydrosite for presenting a value of 76.45% for the inventory of places of hydrological interest. And regarding geotourism purposes, its characteristics can be well used for teaching geosciences, since it enables the teaching of geological- geomorphological, hydrological, socio-spatial dynamics and biodiversity phenomena, for students (from basic and higher education) and lay people, like tourists. Therefore, this article is relevant, not only for the advancement of studies related to geodiversity in the Amazon, but also for the popularization of geotourism in this context. Keywords: Hydrosite; Amazonia; Amazon River; Geoheritage; Geodiversity.
