EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: A STUDY WITH BENEFICIARIES OF THE MUNICCIPALITY OF NOVA OLIMPIA--MT/ AUXILIO EMERGENCIAL: UM ESTUDO COM OS BENEFICIARIOS DO MUNICIPIO DE NOVA LIMPIA--MT

The research aims to identify the perception of beneficiaries in the municipality of Nova Olimpia--MT in relation to receiving emergency aid. This is a descriptive study, with a quantitative approach and a survey technique. The study area was the municipality of Nova Olimpia-MT. The sample was non-probabilistic, used the Snowball technique and comprised 60 participants. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire applied via a google forms form. As for the profile of the beneficiaries, most are male, aged between 18 and 35 years and with complete high school. Regarding the economic aspect, they had a net family income between one and two minimum wages before the pandemic, after receiving the benefit of less than one (28.3%) and between one (33.3%) minimum wage. The amount received from emergency aid was insufficient to meet the basic needs of families for food, housing, clothing and hygiene, being lower in relation to the average cost of the basic food basket in Mato Grosso, which is around R$ 605.28. This reality reinforced the need for beneficiaries to make choices, a fact that had already occurred before, but which intensified in some cases, due to the economic consequences, such as unemployment, arising from the pandemic.
