Zusammenfassung:The borders between Brazil and French Guiana, specifically in the municipality of Oiapoque, in the state of Amapa, constitute a space of social diversity. However, studies on the formation of black or quilombola communities are still scarce. In this article, we seek to understand the formation process of the quilombola Kulumbu do Patuazinho community and its relations with the territory it occupies. The field research was based on the use of methodologies such as oral history, ethnographic observations, and trails and walks with the community in the quilombola territory. In this case, the results of the research allowed us to understand that the migration of a black family coming from the state of Maranhao in the 1990s cannot be explained solely by the search for better living conditions, but must be based on the relationships with the spiritual guides of African origin that drove the arrival in this place, and the mixtures with other groups living in the region and their cosmologies.
