Variables associated with the clinical outcome of patients hospitalized with COVID-19/Variaveis associadas ao desfecho clinico de pacientes hospitalizados por COVID-19

Introduction: Understanding the pathophysiology of COVID-19 and factors associated with the severe evolution of this disease is essential for the development of better preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic practices in the fight against the new coronavirus. Objective: Identify the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics associated with the clinical outcome of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in a private service in a city in the state of Sao Paulo. Method: This study analyzed sociodemographic and clinical data of 117 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, treated from July to December 2020. Data were analyzed using the non-parametric Pearson's chi-square test and Fisher's exact test, adopting a statistical significance level of 5% (p
