PEOPLE, OBJECTS AND MUSEUMS: VISITOR PERCEPTIONS ABOUT THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ARTICLES EXPOSED IN RECIFE'S MUSEUMS/PESSOAS, OBJETOS E MUSEUS: PERCEPCOES DO PUBLICO VISITANTE SOBRE OS ARTEFATOS ARQUEOLOGICOS EXPOSTOS EM MUSEUS RECIFENSES

Motivated by the presence of archaeological objects in three Recife's museums (Centro Cultural Judaico de Pernambuco: Sinagoga Kahal Zur Israel; Instituto Arqueologico, Historico e Geografico de Pernambuco; e Museu Militar Forte do Brum), we seek to problematize the (in) visibility of these artifacts in contexts museums, and discuss issues related to the processes of construction of narratives and meanings generated by these objects. Therefore, in addition to describing the expographic organization and drawing a profile of visitors to these institutions, we analyze how religiosity, family history and memory foster the "anthropophagy" of archaeological artifacts by museums visitors.
