Through an exploratory, theoretical-reflexive research about the evolution of the cognitive and social institutionalization of a disciplinary field, this article focuses on the challenges in the construction of organizational communications in two countries - France and Brazil. The international coomumunicattion and the intercultural communication are used by professional and academic practices under the political and economic influence of the United States. The text sheds light on the peculiarities and the points of interaction with each communication aiming to understand the nuances, the points of connection and the ways of collaboration between them.
