Zusammenfassung: | Although several ecclesiastical positions were designated by the pope, the monarchs aimed to manage the vacant appointments. Alfonso the Magnanimous found in Nicholas V a pope who consented to most of the petitions. With the aid of the cardinals, who were native to his kingdom, the king of the Crown of Aragon gave his collaborators an advantage and rewarded them with a prebend in cathedrals and parish churches. Keywords: Alfonso the Magnanimous, cardinals, intercession before the pope, Nicholas V, designation of prebends. |
