Zusammenfassung: | The return of higher education in Chile is analyzed using a sample of salaried workers from the CASEN 2015 survey. The results indicate that professionals with university studies have a higher return to education than the rest of the workers. This result would help explain the remarkable growth of higher education enrollment. Regrettably, other things being equal, women and people belonging to an ethnic group receive less money for their work. In particular, women are less likely to participate in the labor market and obtain a lower return on education than men. These results show that women are not in the same labor condition as Chilean workers. |
