Zusammenfassung: | Joao Barros (1946-2018), was a Portuguese set designer, recently deceased, whose imaginary is anchored in the artistic and technological formation of the Antonio Arroio School of Arts, possessing vast work in this field, whose scenic dimension is still to study. In this article I propose to approach the three decades of the activity of GOTA--Grupo Oficina Teatro Amador theatre group, of which he was founder, director, set designer, costume designer and actor. Out of the greatest contemporary Portuguese set designers I highlight Manuel Lima (1911-1991), Rogerio Ribeiro (1930-2008), Emilia Nadal (1938), Joao Moniz Pereira (1920-1989) Vera Castro (19462010), Jose Manuel Castanheira (1952) and Manuel Ramos Costa (1956) who have acknowledged Joao Barros' creativity through a wide technical skill and also his deep humanity, always present. Joao Barros (1946-2018), foi um cenografo portugues, recentemente desaparecido, cujo imaginario esta ancorado na formacao artistica e tecnologica da Escola de Artes Decorativas Antonio Arroio, possuindo vasta obra neste dominio, cuja dimensao cenografica esta pouco estudada. Neste artigo propomos abordar as tres decadas da actividade do GOTA--Grupo Oficina Teatro Amador, do qual foi fundador, director encenador, cenografo, figurinista e actor. Os maiores cenografos portugueses contemporaneos dos quais destacamos apenas Manuel Lima (1911-1991), Rogerio Ribeiro (1930-2008), Emilia Nadal (1938), Joao Moniz Pereira (1920-1989) Vera Castro (19462010), Jose Manuel Castanheira (1952) e Manuel Ramos Costa (1956) privaram e reconheceram em Joao Barros a criatividade (Martin Heidegger) atraves de um vastissimo dominio tecnico e tambem a sua enorme humanidade sempre presente.
