Analysis of the profile of the corporal and dermatoglyphic composition of morbid obese women/ANALISE DO PERFIL DA COMPOSICAO CORPORAL E DERMATOGLIFICO DE MULHERES OBESAS MORBIDAS

Obesity is currently one of the main public health problems in Brazil and in the world that's generates several other comorbidities. The aims of this study was to analyze the body composition and the dermatogliphyc characteristcs of morbid obese with aim of better orientation, prescriptiion and follow up of the physical training. The sample consisted of 23 women with mean values of 34.8 [+ or -] 3.6; total body mass of 118.6 [+ or -] 18.9 kg; height of 1.58 [+ or -] 0.06 meters and BMI of 47 [+ or -] 4.27 kg / m2. The results of BMI = 47% classified the patients as obese and the analysis by segments, showed a fat increase in the central part 48,2%, decrease in fat free mass, and total body water 41,7%. It was concluded, with the results of this study that, from the aknowledge of the body composition it's possible to prescribe and follow a physical training through dermatoglypic data.
