It was found that the weight, BMI and DC decreased significantly (p <0.001) after bariatric surgery. The degree of obesity also showed significant change, since before surgery 62.5% had grade III obesity and 25.0% grade II and after surgery, only 6.9% had grade III obesity 20.7% grade II and 27.6% grade I. It can be seen that the weight loss was significant after <1 month, there was a reduction in weight and 6.9% after> 12 months was 33.1%, benefiting quality of life, especially regarding the social and psychological aspects which showed greater prominence.
