Zusammenfassung:The objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of injuries in university athletes practicers futsal at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. Sixty-three university athletes futsal of both sexes, aged 23 [+ or -] 3 years, participated in this study. A retrospective questionnaire was applied to investigate the history of injuries. In this study, 76% of the athletes presented lesions, the average number of injuries per athlete was 3.1. The position that presented the highest number of injuries was that of goalkeepers (34%). The game was the activity that presented the highest number of injuries (58%). The mechanism of injury most affected was indirect trauma (57%). The competition phase was the one with the most injuries (71%). The most common type of injury was sprain (46%). The body segment most vulnerable to injury was the ankle, which was present in 52% of the athletes. Severe injuries were the most frequent, 85% of the athletes were away from practice for more than a month. It was concluded that this group of university athletes of futsal was affected by a large number injuries. With this, there is a need for preventive and specific work to avoid injuries in university athletes.
