Zusammenfassung:The purpose hereof was to identify relations between extracurricular activities (AE) and the possession of managerial competences (CG) in Brazilian research groups (GP), with the use of the CG possession in GP scale developed by Freitas and Odelius (2017) in combination with issues related to the AE contributions for the development of CG in GP. The electronic questionnaire applied to 528participants and submitted to descriptive statistics, the Kendall-tau b correlation analysis, and the Kruskal-Wallis test allowed us to infer that: 1) participating in research groups, scientific initiations, university extensions, internships, general professional performances, volunteer works, and consulting projects are correlated with the CG possession in all of its dimensions; 2) participating in a junior company was not proven as capable to significantly affect the CG possession in GP; and 3) there are significant differences in the mastery of CG, depending on the role played in the GP, the type of institution, the wide-ranging area of knowledge, the educational level and the experience period with academic researches. Finally, we present our conclusions, limitations, and schedule for future researches. Keywords: Managerial Competences; Research Groups; Extracurricular Activities; Development of Managerial Competences. Palavras-cha
