Zusammenfassung: | The essay seeks to clarify the role of education in the imperial Brazil as a process institutionalized under state responsibility. Part of the analysis of Education Pombal Reform as indoctrination for the implementation of a new model of State and the introduction of Lancasterian method in Empire of schools in order to form obedient and useful citizens to the state and local elites as well as the Reformation Coutto Ferraz that established school policies for playing the Brazilian imperial society. Finally, it reveals how the institution of the Free Womb Law reflected in school life and professional staff of young slaves. Thus, through the historical and dialectical method, we seek to demarcate the extent to which these initiatives were effectively part of an educational process and to what extent merely served as an instrument of control and social reproduction, imposed by current law and according to the concepts of (in) justice dominant, without losing sight of libertarian experiences that indicate the possibility of using the school as well as awareness and empowerment tool. |
