Zusammenfassung: | The Basic Education Movement (MEB) was a popular education movement, for peasants and rural workers, through radio broadcasting classes, training courses and events. The aims were: educating for transforming, achieving pedagogy of popular participation. Amongst the most elaborated conceptions were historical consciousness, awareness, politicization, and popular promotion. Union education was emphasized in the rural unionism practices. Some tensions on educational concepts were analyzed, with both convergence and divergence in actions carried out by governments and institutions of civil society. The Basic Education Movement had a unique and creative position within the selected period (1961-1964, and even after 1964), despite the occurrence of some ambivalences, as shown in the present paper. |
