The urban portrait of the Amazonian caboclo in the work of Eder Oliveira/O retrato urbano do caboclo amazonico na obra de Eder Oliveira

Eder Oliveira is a young Amazonian painter based in Belem do Para, northern Brazil. His work investigates the relations between portrait and identity, having as theme the Amazonian caboclo. These questions are developed in the artist's work based on an existing portrait published by local media to talk about the cultural identity ofthe Amazonian man. It intends to present part of his work and to make relations with thematic ones within the contemporary art.
