THE RESEARCHER AS A "LANDLUBBER": REPORTS FROM AN ANTHROPOLOGICALLY INSPIRED RESEARCH IN MANAGEMENT/O PESQUISADOR COMO UM "MARINHEIRO DE PRIMEIRA VIAGEM": relatos de uma pesquisa de inspiracao antropologica na administracao

This work aims to show the first experience with an anthropologically inspired research of PhD students from Management course, who researched the daily routine of beauty salons in the city of Sao Paulo. 120 hours of observation were made during three months. The data obtained from the field notes and the data analysis was conducted by grounded theory. This inaugural experience of the PhD students contributes to the debate about ethnographic research in the management field and about research practice in the researcher training process.
