Zusammenfassung:A one-pot three-component condensation for the synthesis of functionalized pyrroles from arylglyoxal hydrates, acetylacetone or acetoacetic ester, and halo-substituted anilines has been developed. The reaction of ethyl 3-aminocrotonate and arylglyoxal led to the respective ethyl 5-aryl-4-hydroxy-2-methyl-(1 H )-pyrrole-3-carboxylates.
