Zusammenfassung: | Objective: To examine the eating habits of a bodybuilder cowboy. Materials and methods: A type of exploratory case study, with characteristic descriptive-analytical, applied to an athlete bodybuilder. Results and discussion: The athlete's diet was based on two periods of preparation (non-competitive and precompetitive). After reviewing the results, the total energy value of diet in the noncompetitive was 7,405 kilocalories per day, with 50.23% carbohydrates, 31.11% protein and 18.66% lipids; 38.15 micrograms of selenium, 113.32 micrograms of chromium, 12.99 milligrams of vitamin B3 and 8.67 micrograms of vitamin D. In the precompetitive values were 4954 kilocalories per day, and 48.42% carbohydrates, 30.61% protein and 20.97% lipids, 16.6 micrograms of selenium, 147.38 micrograms of chromium, 52, 43 milligrams of vitamin B3 and 1.92 micrograms of vitamin D. Therefore, only the protein was found above the recommendations in the two periods. The selenium, chromium and vitamin B3 were below the recommended period in non-competitive, as well as selenium, chromium and vitamin D in pre-competitive. The athlete's water intake ranged from 3.1 to 3.8 liters per day. Conclusion: The diet of the bodybuilder and the second unbalanced scientific standard, but presents the results expected for this sport, but there are no specific recommendations. Materiais e metodos: Estudo exploratorio do tipo estudo de caso, com caracteristica descritivo - analitica, aplicado em um atleta fisiculturista. Resultados e discussao: A dieta do atleta baseou-se em dois periodos de preparacao (nao-competitivo e pre-competitivo). Apos analisar os resultados, o valor energetico total da dieta no periodo nao-competitivo foi de 7.405 quilocalorias diarias, com 50,23% de carboidratos, 31,11% de proteinas e 18,66% de lipidios; 38,15 microgramas de selenio, 113,32 microgramas de cromo, 12,99 miligramas de vitamina B3 e 8,67 microgramas de vitamina D. No periodo pre-competitivo os valores foram 4.954 quilocalorias diarias, sendo 48,42% de carboidratos; 30,61% de proteinas e 20,97% de lipidios; 16,6 microgramas de Selenio, 147,38 microgramas de Cromo, 52,43 miligramas de vitamina B3 e 1,92 microgramas de vitamina D.
