The dissemination of scientific methods has always been a great dilemmas in applied research. The information tend to be brief, since the consensus is that a sector of the scientific community share the same know how. However, it is normal for early stage researchers in contact with methodological procedures as diverse area of Biochemistry of Exercise may have difficulties in understanding and implementation of specific analyzes. The objective of this paper is to present theoretical arguments about the importance of oxidative stress in the onset phase of overreaching (metabolic stress) in soccer, as well as detail the steps for analysis of important biomarkers of stress in this category.
