Zusammenfassung: | The present work has the purpose to acknowledge the psychological implications within the social environment of scholars, from 7 to 12 yeas old, with obesity, this diagnosed through the BMI (Body Mass Index) with the Colle (2000) protocol. Considering this is a qualitative research, interviews were conducted and analyzed, according to the content method analysis, Bardin (1977). After the data analysis, it was acknowledge that the obese child is seen as lazy, as target of jokes, humiliations and rejections and teachers are not prepared to deal with this problem. The older children suffer more with the rejection, which usually leads to introspection, isolation, and search for individual and sedentary. The self esteem and self concept which are built in this stage require a discreet, smooth and secure treatment from the educator when approaching this delicate subject, so that in the near future this obese child avoid psychological and behavior disturbs. |
