Zusammenfassung: | The mission of the French language minority schools in Canada is not only to assure academic achievement, but also to promote French language and culture. So what meaning do New Brunswick Francophone teachers give to culture and their experiences as cultural transmitter in light of the mission of the Acadian and Francophone school? The results of this phenomenological study reveal that some teachers are comfortable in their role of cultural transmitters, but others are not at ease with cultural development. These teachers' reflexions offer us insights on how to improve our practices. |
