Zusammenfassung: | Background: Third molar surgery is the most common dental surgical procedure, and a challenging operation because of various potential complications, due to which patients generally suffer from severe psychosomatic symptoms, which leads to severe preoperative anxiety. Aims and Objectives: To assess patient's satisfaction associated with third molar surgery. Materials and Method: This pilot study consists of a sample of 500 patients, who wanted 3rd molar removal. The level of satisfaction was assessed with age of patients, satisfaction during and after 3rd molar removal, regarding seniority of surgeons, gender of surgeon, duration of surgery, intra-operative pain and difficulty during surgery. Results: The basic demographic character which did not have a direct significant effect on satisfaction, like age of the patients, but some demographic factors showed significant relationship, like more patients got satisfied 78. 4%(n=392), higher number of patients gets satisfied with consultants 59. 69%(n=234), more patients get satisfied with in 30 minutes of surgery 90. 31%(n=354), higher number of patients getting satisfied with male surgeons 83. 9%(n=329), frequency of patients' satisfaction with regard to intra operative pain shows 76.8% (n=384) no pain. Frequency of patients' level of satisfaction after 3rd molar surgery shows 55. 2 % (n=276). Conclusion: In conclusion, patient's satisfaction has a direct dependence on the seniority of the surgeon and with duration of 3rd molar surgery within 30 minutes.
