Traumatic globe luxation and optic nerve transection/ Travmatik glob luksasyonu ve optik sinir kesisi

Post-traumatic optic nerve transection is a rare condition. It is usually complete and can be accompanied by orbital bone fractures and globe luxation. The management of such cases is quite challenging. In this report, we aimed to present the case of a 49-year-old male patient with orbital trauma, globe luxation, medial rectus muscle and optic nerve transection on the left side. Globe reduction and medial rectus muscle reposition were performed 19 days after the trauma. Five month later, the patient had no light perception in the left eye, however, he had eye movements in all directions of gaze and was satisfied with his left eye aesthetically. Tabloya siklikla glob luksasyonu ile orbital kemik kiriklari eslik edebilmektedir. Bu tur olgularin tibbi ve cerrahi yonetimi oldukca guctur. Bu calismada, sol gozunde travmatik glob luksasyonu ve optik sinir kesisi gelisen olgunun sunulmasi amaclandi. Orbita travmasi nedeniyle medial rektus kasi ve optik sinir kesisi mevcut olan 49 yasindaki erkek hasta konservatif tedavi ile takip edilmis ve travma sonrasindaki 19. gunde okuler reduksiyon ve medial rektus adalesi tamiri uygulandi. Hastanin cerrahi sonrasindaki besinci aydaki muayenesinde sol gozde isik hissi yok, her yone bir miktar goz hareketi mevcuttu ve hasta estetik olarak gorunumunden memnundu.
