Zusammenfassung:In the late 1930's, several buildings were built in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, basically municipal halls, slaughterhouses and cemeteries portals, designed by the engineer and architect Francisco Salamone. These buildings were part of a public work plan carried out by the Provincial Government, which tried to introduce modern architecture, both in the design and materials, in small cities and towns of the Argentine Pampa. In this paper, monumental cemeteries portals located in the towns of Azul, Saldungaray and Laprida are presented, as well as reports on the inspections and the methodology used to assess the state of conservation and to determine its heritage value. Besides, pathologies are detected, in particular, problems associated with reinforcement corrosion, water circulation and biodeterioration concrete processes due to lichen action in rural environments.
