Zusammenfassung:Alzheimer's disease causes dementia and is characterized by various pathological markers in the brain. A hypothesis that deposition of amyloid beta protein is the causative agent of Alzheimer's pathology and that the neurofibrillary tangles, cell loss, vascular damage and dementia are a direct result of the protein is examined.
