Zusammenfassung:The archaeological pieces that arrived at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the 1960s by a scientific exchange with the Italian government include five pottery vessels from Canale, where Paolo Orsi excavated a necropolis in the beginning of the 20th century that is associated with the residential settlement of Ianchina (Calabria--Italy). This study aims to bring these artifacts -- preserved at thet Museum -- into life, placing them in the historical context that produced them. Keywords: Canale--Ianchina; proto--historic pottery; iron age in Italy; cultural contact, museum collection. Entre as pecas arqueologicas chegadas ao Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da Universidade de Sao Paulo na decada de 1960 por meio de intercambio com o governo italiano, encontram--se cinco vasilhas de ceramica provenientes de Canale, onde uma necropole foi intensivamente escavada no inicio do seculo XX; necropole relacionada ao nucleo residencial de Ianchina (Calabria--Italia). Nosso objetivo neste texto e dar vida a essas pecas conservadas no MAE, inserindo--as no contexto historico que as produziu.
