Zusammenfassung: | The church of Sant'Eutizio, part of a Benedictine abbey dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries, was damaged by the collapse of a bell tower and part of the cliff on which it rested, caused by the earthquake of 2016. Post-disaster images show a wreckage of the bell tower's base and the church lacking a substantial portion of its facade. The front of the church is noteworthy for the use of ashlar masonry, but it acquires extraordinary cultural value due to the decorative quality of the rose window surrounded by four imposing sculptures. With this contribution, the specific operational protocol implemented from the phase of debris analysis and management to the subsequent study of the recovered artifacts, up to the reassembly of the stone parts, is intended to be retraced. It is an experience from which a methodological reflection on the practice of anastylosis following destructive events is intended to be developed, evaluating approaches of analysis, opportunities, and operational limitations.
