Stratificazioni e Lacune. Temi contemporanei dell'intervento sulle preesistenze

The dialogue between conservation and innovation, between preserving and revealing outlined by the Venice Charter, determines the co-presence in the restoration project of the conservative and revelatory instances that, through a modern figurative solution, also assume a communicative task, of commenting on the ancient text. Through the examination of a number of contemporary restoration projects, two important design themes are analysed that combine to achieve the same end: that facilitation of reading which, from the 1964 Charter onwards, has highlighted the didactic and restitutive character of the restoration project.
