Zusammenfassung: | This study analyzes the efficiency variation of the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education institutes from 2014 to 2016. The data for the 38 institutions was collected from the management reports available on the Brazilian Court of Audit (TCU) and the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) websites. The efficiencies of Institutes were assessed, employing output-oriented variable return to scale Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to compute the Malmquist Index. The input is measured by two indicators: current expenses and number of teachers, while the inputs are measured by the number of students that completed their courses. The results suggest an improvement in total efficiency due to the technical efficiency of Federal Institutes; however, there was a negative variation in the technological component. Este estudo analisou a variacao da eficiencia dos Institutos da Rede Federal de Educacao, Ciencia e Tecnologia no periodo de 2014 a 2016. Adotou-se o Modelo DEA-Malmquist com retornos variaveis de escala orientado ao produto por ser capaz de realizar a analise dinamica da eficiencia tecnica. Os dados das 38 instituicoes foram coletados nos relatorios de gestao disponiveis no sitio do Tribunal de Contas da Uniao (TCU) e no Ministerio de Educacao e Cultura (MEC). Como variaveis de insumo foram utilizados os gastos correntes e o numero de docente e como variavel de produto foi utilizado o numero de concluintes. Os calculos foram realizados na linguagem de programacao R. Os resultados sugerem o incremento na eficiencia total decorrente da eficiencia tecnica dos Institutos Federais, todavia, observou-se uma variacao negativa no componente tecnologico.
