Zusammenfassung:The development of highly efficient methods for the synthesis of chemical products by using renewable raw materials is one of the topical areas of medicinal chemistry. The paper presents the synthesis of (2aR,2a[sup.1]S,5aR,9bR)-4-isopropyl-7,8-dimethoxy-2a[sup.1]-methyl-2,2a,2a[sup.1],3,5a,9b-hexahydrofluoreno[9,1-bc]furan. The title compound was obtained through Prins–Friedel–Crafts cascade reactions of trans-4-hydroxymethyl-2-carene, which was synthesized from 3-carene, one of the main components of gum turpentine. The product yield after purification was 48%. The compound’s structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
