Measurement of non-prompt [Formula omitted]-meson elliptic flow in Pb-Pb collisions at [Formula omitted] TeV

The elliptic flow [Formula omitted] of [Formula omitted] mesons from beauty-hadron decays (non-prompt [Formula omitted] was measured in midcentral (30-50%) Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair [Formula omitted] TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The [Formula omitted] mesons were reconstructed at midrapidity [Formula omitted] from their hadronic decay [Formula omitted], in the transverse momentum interval [Formula omitted] GeV/c. The result indicates a positive [Formula omitted] for non-prompt [Formula omitted] mesons with a significance of 2.7 [Formula omitted]. The non-prompt [Formula omitted]-meson [Formula omitted] is lower than that of prompt non-strange D mesons with 3.2 [Formula omitted] significance in [Formula omitted], and compatible with the [Formula omitted] of beauty-decay electrons. Theoretical calculations of beauty-quark transport in a hydrodynamically expanding medium describe the measurement within uncertainties.
