Zusammenfassung: | Objective: Conduct a systematic review to verify the main foods that help in the loss of body weight in overweight/obese adults. Materials and methods: The standards established by the Preferred Reporting Items in Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses were used and epidemiological studies were included. The search was performed in the electronic databases PubMed, CAPES Periodicals and BIREME. Results: Initially, 78 articles were selected and, of these, five met all the inclusion criteria and were selected to proceed with the systematic review. The articles showed the presence of foods notably associated with successful weight loss, including animal and soy milk, whey protein, flaxseed, white sweet potato and pigmented rice bran. Conclusion: Adequate and healthy food is extremely important, promoting weight reduction in overweight individuals and preventing comorbidities associated with obesity and overweight. Objetivo: Realizar uma revisao sistematica para verificar os principais alimentos que auxiliam na perda de peso corporal em adultos com sobrepeso/obesidade. Material e metodos: Utilizou-se os padroes estabelecidos pelo Preferred Reporting Items in Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses e incluiu-se estudos epidemiologicos. A busca foi realizada nas bases de dados eletronicas PubMed, Periodicos CAPES e BIREME. Resultados: Foram selecionados, inicialmente, 78 artigos e, destes, cinco atenderam a todos os criterios de inclusao e foram selecionados para prosseguir na revisao sistematica. Os artigos mostraram a presenca de alimentos notadamente associados a perda de peso bem-sucedida, entre eles estao o leite animal e de soja, whey protein, linhaca, batata doce branca e farelo de arroz pigmentado. Conclusao: A alimentacao adequada e saudavel e de extrema importancia, promovendo a reducao de peso em individuos com excesso de peso e prevenindo comorbidades associadas a obesidade e ao sobrepeso.
