Zusammenfassung: | This article focuses on the characterization of ceramic vessels used by hunter-gatherers during the end of the Holocene (ca.1200 AP years) from the Tigre site (Artigas county, Uruguay), located on the left margin of the middle Uruguay River. To advance a scarcely developed topic in the region, three complementary sources of information are used: 3D reconstruction, volume calculations, and adhesion analysis. From the edges of pots, entire shapes of ceramic vessels are recreated, which in turn allows us to infer the capacity and volume of the containers. The generated 3D models are useful to test recreations made over the past decades moreover; it is a viable strategy that contributes to the characterization and discussion of the material culture used by hunter-gatherers during the end of the Holocene in the middle Uruguay River. Keywords: 3D reconstruction; hunting--gathering groups with ceramics; late Holocene; Uruguay river. |
