Zusammenfassung: | The following considerations are meant as a contribution to the current debate within literary and cultural studies on the possibilities and limits of an interrelation between the sciences and literature. Using Thomas Lehr’s science fiction novel 42 (2005) as an example, various epistemological models of literature such as ‚thought experiment‘, ‚trading zone‘ (Galison), ‚Interdiskurs‘ (Link), ‚phénoménotechnique‘ (Bachelard), etc. are discussed and compared with the novel’s specific literary strategies. The article focuses on Lehr’s attempt to illustrate questions from theoretical physics and the philosophy of time using literary and narrative means. |
