Zusammenfassung:The article highlights one of the important problems in oil refining, the compatibility of components in the formation of feedstock blends and marketable petroleum products. The principles of determining and controlling the kinetic stability of oil blends to phase separation are set out. Examples of incompatibility of components (crude oils, components of light and dark products, fuel additives) are presented. At the same time, it has been noted that phase separation is the target process in some cases, such as dewatering of crude oil and oil products, lube oil production, etc.
