Zusammenfassung:Aseries of pyridine-3-carboxylic acid derivatives were synthesized via recyclization of a thiopyran ring using cyclic secondary amines and then converted into substituted thieno[2,3- b ]pyridines. Studies of the neurotropic properties identified several synthesized compounds with anticonvulsant activity against corazole-induced seizures. The compounds were active as psychological sedatives and, in contrast with the tranquilizer diazepam, were inactive as central myorelaxants at anticonvulsant doses.
