Zusammenfassung:A new method to determine the hydrogen ion flux across the membrane of isolated retinal cells is developed to allow direct examination of the hydrogen ion transport. The new method of measuring hydrogen ion flux is based on a self-referencing electrode format using pH-selective microelectrodes. The method is also potentially useful in the investigation of cellular and molecular mechanisms affecting hydrogen ion transport.
