Zusammenfassung:Aim: To determine the prevalence of symptoms for eating disorders, overweight and obesity in a population of students in the city of Bom Jesus-RS. Methods: This was an epidemiological cross-sectional study. It was used a self-administered questionnaire for assessment of eating disorders, body image dissatisfaction, bullying (Kidscape), gender, age, and number of daily meals. The total body mass and height were also collected in this study. Results: The study found 29.9% of individuals with symptoms for eating disorders, 23.2% of overweight and 6.7% obese. Excess body fat was associated with symptoms for eating disorders. Victims of bullying had almost 3 times more likely to be overweight and individuals who performed 4 or more meals showed 50% less likely to be overweight. Conclusions: The results are similar to other cities in the country and the world, showing the need for preventive measures. Key words: Overweight. Obesity. Eating Disorders. Objetivo: Verificar a prevalencia de sintomas para transtornos alimentares (TA), sobrepeso e obesidade em uma populacao de escolares do municipio de Bom Jesus-RS. Metodos: Trata-se de um estudo epidemiologico transversal. Foi utilizado um questionario autoaplicavel onde se avaliou transtornos alimentares, insatisfacao com a imagem corporal, bullying (Kidscape), sexo, idade e numero de refeicoes diarias. Neste estudo tambem foram coletadas a massa corporal total e a estatura. Resultados: O estudo encontrou 29,9% dos individuos com sintomas para transtornos alimentares, 23,2% de individuos com sobrepeso e 6,7% com obesidade. Excesso de gordura corporal mostrou-se associado a sintomas de transtornos alimentares. Vitimas de bullying apresentaram quase 3 vezes mais chances de estarem com excesso de peso e individuos que realizavam 4 ou mais refeicoes apresentaram 50% menos chances de estarem com excesso de peso. Conclusao: Os resultados se assemelham a outras cidades do pais e do mundo, mostrando a necessidade de medidas preventivas. Palavras-chave: Sobrepeso. Obesidade. Transtornos Alimentares.
