Zellige and contemporary creation: the mystical vision of Younes Rahmoun/Zellige y creacion contemporanea: la vision mistica de Younes Rahmoun

Zellige is a material that continues to be present in the works of those artists whom have had some contact with the "andalusi" culture. The spectrum goes from orientalists until the most contemporary ones. The use of this material varies along with the context of each artist. In this article, we will highlight the work of a moroccan artist that was born and raised in Tetouan surrounded by Zellige and whose perspective plans on going beyond the traditional limits of this materials' use, resulting therefore into a fundamental part of our research. El Zellige es un elemento que sigue presente en obras de artistas que tuvieron algun contacto con la cultura andalusi, desde los orientalistas hasta los mas contemporaneos, los usos de estos elementos varian con el contexto de cada artista. En este articulo vamos a destacar el trabajo de un artista marroqui que nacio y crecio en Tetuan rodeado del Zellige y cuyo enfoque pretende traspasar los limites convencionales del uso del Zellige en el arte resultando, por lo tanto, fundamental para nuestra investigacion.
