Zusammenfassung:	An expert analysis of industrial safety is presented in the form of a case study. The analysis entailed determination of the following: the degree of agreement between the actual operating parameters of a BN2.8-16 drying drum and its design parameters; the technical condition of the dryer, with corroborating calculations. Recommendations were developed for continued use of the unit (drum).
